Novartis | Communication & Patient Relations Manager Pharma 

Are you a communications professional with experience in working with patient organizations and can act as a business partner in advising your diverse group of internal stakeholders? Then join our team as a Communication & Patient Relations Manager!

As the Communication & Patient Relations Manager you will support the Novartis business by creating and managing mutually beneficial relationships with patient organizations and related stakeholders, to develop a patient strategy with patient-centric activities in compliance with internal and external policies. You will work closely together with the several business teams and focus on the development and implementation of effective internal and external communication and patient programs and enhancing the reputation of Novartis.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• To develop and lead specific Disease Area Patient Strategy programs and build partnerships to differentiate the patient experiencesacross all areas of the life cycle and to act as the voice of patients within the company, to highlight patients’ needs and opinions to the management team and other colleagues.
• To implement effective patient strategies via an integrated planning process, working cross-functionally, and with the national Specific Disease Areas Patient Organizations (POs) to shape and support the environment in driving disease awareness and patient access.
• To support the operational process of building internal and external relationships to increase the Novartis perception among stakeholders of our commitment to improve patient outcomes, patient-centric approach to disease area strategy development and market access.
• To create a (disease) communication strategy and use innovative communication channels (eg. through third party agencies, relevant media outlets and freelance journalists or science writers, etc.) to strengthen communication efforts and provide multiple feedback mechanisms to the organization on patient insights or reputation
• To ensure public relations and social media programs are in place within the legal policies with measurable impact. Create share of voice in the media, message penetration and optimal business positioning.

Minimum requirements

Minimum requirements

• University Degree, preferably in Business, Life Science, Communication, Journalism or Public affairs;
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a communication role;
• Experience working with patient organizations;
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language;
• You are creative, have an explorative mind and like to think outside the box in creative solutions and approaches;
• You are able to quickly build effective working relationships, both internally and externally
